Talent Acquisition Specialist

Seeking a Contract Recruiter to source, interview and screen applicants to fill existing and future job openings and promote career opportunities for the Altria family of companies.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Sourcing and recruiting technical, professional, administrative and managerial personnel for assigned functions while maintaining compliance with EEO guidelines and hiring procedures.
  • Understanding and sharing our company culture and employment value proposition with candidates.
  • Engaging with clients to learn pertinent job information and to clearly explain the staffing process, clearly define roles, and establish realistic timelines and measures.
  • Learning the client departmental culture and developing strong working relationships with client groups as well as other HR functional areas (Generalists, Compensation, Benefits) and Legal.
  • Using an internet based applicant tracking system to efficiently and accurately manage applicant information and to monitor the status of open positions.


Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of recruiting experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required in order to foster relationship building with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required in order to professionally represent the Company in interactions with the public including interviews, job postings, advertisements, etc.
  • Strong customer orientation and selling skills are required in order to interact effectively with candidates and other stakeholders.
  • The incumbent must possess strong consultative skills and be willing to work in an environment where results are measured.
  • The capacity and willingness to learn an internet-based applicant tracking system. Experience using Kenexa BrassRing is a strong plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in order to manage work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong project management and analytical skills are a plus.
  • Thorough understanding of recruitment, selection systems, pre-employment testing, job posting, internet recruiting, job fairs, retained search and contingency search agencies, as well as related laws and litigation precedents required.
  • Working knowledge of compensation policies, benefit plans and affirmative action guidelines is helpful.
