Normal Work Hours: 8:00 am to 5pm (Monday – Friday)

Rate:  $26.50 (max)

 

Currently recruiting for a Project Manager with 1-3 years’ experience in the procurement of materials.  This is a long term contract opportunity with a well-known company in Richmond, VA.  Excellent hourly rate and benefits offered. 

Responsibilities:

  • Field calls and emails from construction personnel and create requests via a material request website to set up delivery times with multiple warehouses and distribution centers to project site.
  • Work with materials suppliers to provide information for delivery (address, contact name, acceptable delivery dates as per an SAP schedule, etc.) via change orders in SAP
  • When necessary, expedite requests for emergency projects, or work with the rest of their team to obtain materials through project transfers.
  • The Materials Specialist will support 3-5 project managers. Each project manager may have 10-25 active projects in various stages of activity (conceptual engineering, materials procurement, active construction, project commission & close, surplus material returns)
  • The Materials Specialist will attend project meetings to discuss upcoming schedules/deliveries and potential procurement issues, while providing guidance on forecasted material spend.
  •  Assists project management teams by providing materials management support for electric transmission and distribution operations and construction.
  • Evaluates and processes material requisitions and reservations to ensure materials are available and delivered in a timely manner as outlined by ERP scheduling (SAP).
  • Works to effectively resolve supply chain, material logistic, accounting and vendor issues.
  • Assists in planning and implementation of material management initiatives; develops and maintains supplier/service relationships.
  • Provides material cost and delivery data to project team for use in corporate planning/forecasting reports.
  • Analyzes material usage patterns to ensure cost effective and adequate materials are available in a timely manner.
  • Analyzes surplus/obsolete materials and takes appropriate actions to minimize stocking levels.
