Administrative Assistant

Currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant to support the pastor and its ministries for a church located in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Answer telephones, greet visitors.
  • Review and distribute email, voice mail and postal mail.
  • Add prospective members to church database.
  • Send “welcome cards” to prospective members.
  • Update electronic calendar for Church, Pastor, and Executive Minister.
  • Confirm pastor’s appointments
  • Make necessary changes to Bible Study and resubmit to Executive Minister.
  • Edit, update and print mailing labels for Sick and Shut In.
  • Copy and distribute any Ministry Deposit Forms from previous Sunday.
  • Send out birthday cards.
  • Print event calendar and distribute to appropriate personnel.
  • Forward sickness/death information to Ministers.
  • Prepare condolence letters.
  • Prepare materials for pre-marital counseling.
  • Report in writing any external/internal problems to Executive Minister. 
  • Prepare and handle correspondence for the pastor, the church, and its ministries.
  • Create program/flyer/banner for pastor, church and its ministries.
  • Attend church business meetings, take minutes.
  • Copying, filing, scanning faxing and other general clerical duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in MS-Office, good keyboarding skills.
  • Familiar with MAC computers, will be using daily.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work effective with little supervision
