Administrative Assistant_Norfolk, VA

Long term contract opportunity for an Administrative Assistant in the Norfolk, VA area with a well-known company.  Excellent hourly rate and benefits offered. Primary hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 7am to 4pm.   Must be reliable and dependable with the flexibility to work over-time as needed. 

Responsibilities: 

  • General office duties such as: answering telephone calls, making appointments, scheduling meetings and initiating and composing correspondence.
  • Maintain and update office supplies and assist in maintenance of department files.
  • May process invoices, handle confidential records and information, and/or make travel arrangements.
  • May provide guidance and assistance to less experienced office support staff.
  • Provides typing and word processing support.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Extensive clerical/administrative experience.  5+ years preferred.
  • Ability to collect, compile and analyze information and data.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of initiative and ability to use judgment.
  • Strong skills operating computerized and standard office equipment.
  • Excellent skills using word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software.  Intermediate to advanced skills in MS-Office.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills.
