Process Improvement Program Engineer

Currently recruiting for a Process Improvement Program Engineer to work with a collaborative team in the implementation of a standard e-procurement system.  This is a long-term contract assignment with a well-known company in Richmond, VA.  This need is immediate with an end date currently scheduled for 12/31/2018.  Excellent rate and benefits offered. Some travel will be required.
 

Responsibilities: 

  • Leads high-impact process development and improvement projects to better enable the achievement of business model and strategic plan commitments.
  • Utilizes process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or any industry standard continuous improvement methodology.
  • Provides guidance and knowledge to lead change in the organization.
  • Exercise sound judgment in directing and mentoring others using the appropriate methods and tools to promote culture change across the organization, and ensure timely implementation of new processes and efficiencies.
  • Responsibilities will include training, leadership of cross functional process improvement teams and the implementation of measures to reflect operational improvements and financial benefits. 

 

Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical competency in Six Sigma or any industry standard continuous improvement methodology.
  • Advanced knowledge of policy and operational aspects of project portfolio management functions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cost structures to pursue cost savings and efficiencies.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing large, complex projects to successful outcomes with measurable results. Must stay abreast of evolving methodologies and tools and synchronize efforts with National IT policies and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to lead and coordinate activities on all levels. Ability to communicate and present information in all settings in a credible, confident and influential manner.
  • Leadership and motivational skills to create strong teams and effectively direct complex improvement projects. Ability to orchestrate cross-functional efforts to provide high quality deliverables and meet division objectives and customer expectations.
  • Ability to effectively implement changes affecting all levels of the organization and demonstrate leadership competencies, especially in situations with no direct responsibility.
  • Proven success at building relationships to facilitate efficiency improvements.
  • Effective negotiation and issue conflict resolution capabilities.
  • Strong analytical skills to guide the assessment and implementation of solutions.
  • Ability to balance time, cost, and results to provide quality deliverables. A
  • Ability to effectively analyze all information available to make decisions in the best interest of the organization.
  • Ability to prepare easy to understand high-level documentation and presentations using detailed, complex data.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related IT field is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and job-related experience equal to 6 - 10 years.
  • Certifications in or extensive experience using proven process engineering or process improvement methodologies with goals of gaining and/or maintaining appropriate certifications.
